The University of Strathclyde, in the heart of Glasgow, is a vibrant, international, academic community of 16,000 full-time students from 100 countries, and over 3,500 full-time equivalent staff.

We are the third largest university in Scotland and still honour the 200-year-old founding vision of Professor John Anderson to be the "place of useful learning". Today's Strathclyde is international in outlook with a distinctive reputation for innovation and enterprise. Our focus is to produce high quality graduates and to undertake research and knowledge exchange that addresses the major challenges of the 21st century.

We are implementing an ambitious change programme that will see us position ourselves in the community of leading international technological universities. These changes will put Strathclyde in a strong position to address significant issues facing Scotland, the UK and the world.

Presently the University is located on two campuses, the John Anderson (Glasgow City Centre) and Jordanhill (Glasgow West). There are currently five Faculties: Engineering, Science, Strathclyde Business School, Education and Law, Arts and Social Sciences. The Faculties are supported by eight directorates which form Professional Services.
